Ghostbusters: Patchin' Makes Me Feel Good

If you plunked down your hard-earned cash on the PlayStation 3 version of Ghostbusters: The Video Game and found yourself disappointed by the disparity between it and the Xbox 360 version seen above, then fear not; good news is afoot.
The issue, which had been brought up several times in the past, revolves around the resolution of the PlayStation 3 version being roughly 75 percent of the Xbox 360's version.
A Termimal Reality spokesperson said: "For the record, the PS3 version [of Ghostbusters] is softer due to the 'quincunx' antialiasing filter and the fact we render at about 75% the resolution of the 360 version. So you cannot directly compare a screen shot of one to the other unless you scale them properly. The PS3 does have less available RAM than the 360 – but we managed to squeeze 3 out of 4 textures as full size on the PS3."
Now, Atari says there is a patch available which fixes the resolution issue, as well as offering "numerous other localization fixes." A Trophy glitch which occurs when European and American players play together has also been fixed, now allowing players to obtain the "Pay Day" and "Capture All Most Wanted Ghosts," as well as the subsequent mandatory Platinum.
It's good to know that Atari and Terminal Reality have enough commitment to remedy such issues. The Trophies, it is kind of expected of them, but the resolution fix seems like a nice goodwill gesture.
Our own Matthew Green has also spoken well of the patchwork, stating "If those problems have been solved once and for all, then I wouldn't mind revisiting my review of the game."
