As predicted, the latest issue of Famitsu has unveiled the latest in Koei's (now Koei Tecmo's) long line of beat-em-ups: the Musou series, better known as the Warriors series in North America. Also expected, the newest Musou will be inspired by one of the most popular anime and manga franchises in history: Hokuto no Ken, better known as Fist of the North Star.
The game, titled Hokuto Musou, is based primarily on the original classic anime series and film, the game follows Kenshiro, a lone martial artist, as he travels a post-apocalyptic earth, beating the ever-loving crap out of any baddies that get in his way with his "Hokuto Shinken" fighting style. Kenshiro battling hundreds of villains was a scene often seen in the series, so making it into a Musou game shouldn't be much of a stretch.
The game is set for release in Japan next year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
