Ubisoft Talks About Potential Metal Gear/Assassin's Creed 2 Mixup

When Konami revealed that Metal Gear hero Solid Snake would be donning the garb of Assassin's Creed protagonist Altair in Metal Gear Solid 4, few saw it coming-- despite it being revealed a month and a half earlier on April 1st.
With Assassin's Creed 2 just around the corner, Gaming Union caught up with Ubisoft Montreal's Chief Executive Officer, Yannis Mallat, at the GameON: Finance conference in Toronto to ask if we could soon see an encore performance in the sequel, or even in another franchise, such as Splinter Cell.
Laughing, Mallat said "We're working with Hideo on a casual basis, and this is the kind of thing we love to do. When there is something vice versa I'm sure you guys will know first."
Pressed further on whether or not it is something which has been discussed, Mallat simply stated that "We talk about a lot of things with Hideo, he's a great fan of Ubisoft and Ubisoft Montreal, as we are for his work. The relationship is really awesome with Hideo."
Gaming Union takes this as a positive sign that they are in communication with Hideo and that the two sides are working together in some manner, but I'm not sure it's anything to build expectations upon yet.
Personally speaking, I think that some sort of Castlevania/Assassin's Creed mashup might be interesting to see.
