PlayStation Brand Still Continues to Drive Sales of Tekken

Once upon a time, there were many brands which were closely associated with the PlayStation name, such as Grand Theft Auto and Devil May Cry. But as a new generation dawned and the Xbox 360 took a more commanding lead, developers and publishers would decide to hedge their bets and release such titles across both platforms.
In some such cases, the Xbox 360 version of a title has managed to sell in greater numbers, but not in the case of Tekken 6. PS3center.net reports that the PlayStation 3 version of the game has managed to outsell the 360 iteration by a margin of "less than 113K" to "less than 100K."
They also point out that while Tekken 6 had only five days in October to rank on the charts, they sold less than 225K combined and "that's still a lot less than other big name fighting franchises have done, namely Street Fighter IV, which sold over 700K in about 8 days." Speculation suggests that the game's problem with netcode issues could have affected it commercially, despite being received well critically.
