Bionic Commando Producer Ben Judd has said that that the PlayStation 3 version of the game will indeed have Achievements, just as the Xbox 360 version does -- or, a Sony-style equivalent, at least.
Speaking with Eurogamer, he revealed that in addition to the primary mission, there would be other smaller objectives through which gamers will be able to earn trophies, such as by defeating ten of a particular kind of enemy, or performing a pair of back-to-back zip-kicks using the Bionic Arm.
The Xbox 360's version of the goals will unlock Achievements and new skills, while the PS3 version records and rewards in a much similar fashion.
Judd went on to say that "there is a message" behind the game's story, which sees the disavowed Bionics forming a renegade terrorist unit, leading to an exploration of the theme of man vs. machine, as well as commenting on the relative frailty of lead character Nathan Spencer when he is forced to operate without the power of his Bionic Arm.
Also of note is that at GDC, the demo version on display features a lush jungle outside the city, ripe for exploration and some Tarzan-style fun, showing that the game won't be limited strictly to swinging around downtown.
Editor's Take: "Achievement Unlocked: Hitler hit."
One can dream, right?
