DualShock 3 Impressions

Gamers where stunned the day they heard "rumble is a last-gen feature." A part of the collective gamer soul died a little.. Gamers accepted their fate until a glorious day – the DualShock 3 would be coming. With the controller in our hands now, we can say it's real, it's awesome and you should pick one up.
The first reaction you'll have is in response to the weight of the controller, which is substantially increased over the vanilla SIXAXIS controller. So the quality of the DualShock 3 seems sturdier and more able to take day-to-day punishment than the feather weight SIXAXIS. The quality boost goes beyond the weight; the dual analogue sticks are firmer and have a tighter feel so the dead zone feels non-existent. The other buttons feel the same and there have been no issues what-so-ever to report of after a few days of testing out the controller.
DualShock 3
The integration of the rumble has been seamless with a number of games already. Just a quick game patch and rumble is good to go. The games we tested it out on have worked like a charm and never was a rumble out of place or misused. It feels like games were designed to support the controller all along (which in some cases they were). But going back to the SIXAXIS is a jarring experience. Where it feels natural to have the heft and vibration, the cruiserweight SIXAXIS doesn't feel right after playtime with the DualShock 3.
This is the controller that the PS3 should have had at launch. The SIXAXIS was fine, but that was because there wasn't any other option. The DualShock 3 really makes the difference for a better PS3 experience. It is a good thing that the DualShock 3 will be the only official controller on the market because with it, all rumble-less options wouldn't have a purpose. Long story short, get the DualShock 3 --the controller the PS3 was meant to have from the very beginning, because you'll enjoy your PS3 that much more.
