Rapture was, from its inception, designed to be secluded -- an underwater paradise for those who Andrew Ryan judged worthy. Doctors, scientists, and PC and Xbox 360 gamers comprised this prodigious bunch, but the majority of humanity was excluded. Unfazed, regular people continued to live normal existences, uncaring about Rapture's numerous benefits -- or its madness. This fall, however, it seems the bathysphere is coming up to snatch a second group of splicers-to-be.
If Electronic Gaming Monthly's rumor section -- which seems to be especially fruitful this month -- is correct, PS3 owners could finally have a chance to experience Ken Levine's latest masterwork. Apparently launching this fall, Bioshock PS3 will introduce gamers to a Rapture that's even more visually impressive than last year's model, as well as additional content in the form of DLC.
This highly anticipated, repeatedly predicted port will be closely followed by details concerning Bioshock 2. IGN contacted the good fellows at 2K Boston for confirmation, but were greeted by the ubiquitous "no comment" -- better than a "no," but still not a "yes."
This rumor isn't really shocking. Multiple outlets reported it around the time Bioshock came out, albeit not quite in so detailed a form as EGM. My guess: Bioshock PS3 is coming, although any hype it might garner will be eclipsed by Bioshock 2's first details. Bioshock is still an incredible game, though, and any PS3 owners who haven't taken the plunge into Andrew Ryan's crazy city will be in for a great time this fall.
