Today is Playstation Day 2008, so grab your festive party hats and noisemakers, and get ready to sit down and read some news! To get you started on this special occasion, here's a fun little tidbit:
Killzone 2 will no longer be part of Sony's blockbuster-packed 2008. Instead, it's launching in February 2009.
Wait, that's not fun at all. Well, Sony's David Reeves announced it at the Playstation Day press conference, so it's more or less written in stone -- barring any further delays.
And, as much as I was looking forward to firing a few thousand clips into the Helghast menace, I understand where Sony's coming from here. Resistance 2 is set to make a megaton splash this holiday season, and there's no reason to have both titles vying for the spotlight while Gears of War 2 runs rampant. (For those of you who just got presidential election vibes, you should probably worry, because that makes you as strange as me.)
Even in light of this delay, however, Sony's holiday season is still looking incredible, so I doubt we'll be lamenting Killzone 2's absence too much. And with all those games occupying us, 2009 will be here before we know it.
