Mortal Kombat: Kollection Koming to PS2 Konsoles This Phall
July 25, 2008 | 1:51 PM PST
For those of you who have a PlayStation 3 that can play PlayStation 2 games (or, conversely, just a PS2), Midway has announced that they plan to release Mortal Kombat: Kollection exclusively for the console this September, "just in time for players to refine their skills before the scheduled release of the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe this holiday season."
However, for longtime fans of the series, the truth behind the title may be slightly disappointing. If you were hoping to challenge Goro with Johnny Cage in the original title just to find out he has no balls, or maybe face the "Toasty!" secret characters of MKII, well, you might be let down a bit. MK:Kollection collects but a mere 3 titles from the 10-strong franchise: Deception, Armageddon, and Shaolin Monks.
All in all, not bad for a mere $29.99, especially when you take into account that Shaolin Monks is the one MK action game that wasn't reviled by all, going on to sell over a million copies. So long story short, this will make a good, convenient lead-in to the MK throwdown with the Superfriends, but probably won't satisfy much as an anthology.
Of course, you also get Motor Kombat in Armageddon, and isn't that all anyone really wants?
