One of the worst things about the PlayStation 3 is its post-launch batches of consoles that lack backwards compatibility with the PlayStation 2. There has been small talk of work on a possible software solution, and it may finally be ready to come to light, if one retailer is to be believed:

It would be nice if Sony were to finally bring this feature back to the PlayStation 3, where it rightfully belongs. Question is, would that lead to more people being willing to take the jump to a PS3?
