LittleBigPlanet Beta Closed; Review Copies Ending Up on eBay
October 13, 2008 | 1:40 PM PST
20 days ago, the LittleBigPlanet beta went live. And in what seems like no time at all, people came, they saw, and they created. And now, it's closed. The program doesn't work any more, and it will soon need to be deleted, with nothing to replace it for ten agonizing days.
But for anyone foolhardy and desperate enough, it would seem that there is, as always, salvation in eBay. It seems that some reviewers (well, at least one, anyway) have taken to the idea of filling this gap in peoples' lives by putting a UK review copy on the world-famous auction site.
Interestingly enough, the auction had a simple "Buy It Now" price of just £29.99; one has to wonder how high it might have gone if actual bidding had been allowed.
Meanwhile, keep an eye on Kombo for the debut of LittleBigPlaneteers. I have no idea what it's about, at least beyond the obvious guesses, but it should be interesting and fun, to say the least. Or at least it had better be... right, Sean?
