Rumor: New PlayStation 3 Design to Debut at E3

A new rumor coming out of PlayStation LifeStyle is that not only will Sony debut the "PSP Go!" debut at E3 this June, but "another new hardware redesign" would appear there as well.
And since the Go! would take up one slot on Sony's card, and a third PlayStation 2 seems a little unlikely (but certainly not impossible), the PlayStation 3 seems like the most likely candidate.
"We didn't get any specifics," the site says, "but we speculate that it could be one of a couple different options. First off, it very well could be as simple as a white or a silver PS3, to go with the white and silver Dualshock 3's that have been made available. This makes sense, as most people would want their controllers to match their consoles."
The other option they look at is that of a slimmed-down model of PlayStation 3, possibly with some sort of updated specs. "Nothing major of course as to not alienate current PS3 owners, but there is an off chance they could add something small like bluetooth 3.0 support." PSLS says.
They add, "When we caught wind of this, the exact word 'redesign' was used, which leaves me to believe that it is indeed a PS3 slim. Announcing a different color wouldn't exactly warrant the term 'redesign'."
Of course, if Sony has any plans at all to move down the price, this seems like the perfect time. They've mentioned updating the hardware in the past in order to cut down costs; perhaps a slimmed PS3 would mark a culmination of their latest refinements, as well as a way for them to compete more aggressively against the smaller-sized and smaller-priced Xbox 360 and Wii.
